The boys and girls of 5th and 6th Class attended the special celebration for the 100th year anniversary of the death of Thomas Ashe. The Defense Forces were part of the service as well as Fingal Old IRA and representatives (including RaLET’s own Áine Gaffney) from The Black Raven Pipe Band. There were speeches, music and poetry. A wreath was laid and there was an official raising of the Irish flag, while everyone sang Amhrán na bhFiann. Caoimhe Luccan from Simon’s 6th Class read part of the poem “Let Me Carry Your Cross”.
