February and March Update

7th Feb 2025

February and March Highlights

Our class has been buzzing with creativity and learning over the past 2 months. Here’s a look at some of the wonderful activities we’ve enjoyed:

  • Ukulele lessons: The children have embraced the Ukulele. They've been learning to read and strom different chords and it's been fantastic watching their skills and confidence grow with each session.
  • Ancient Greece: In history we went back in time to explore ancient Greece, their Gods, art, music and overall way of life and of course the Olympics. The children got a real kick out of what the Olympians in ancient times really wore when competing!
  • Wellbeing Week: we focused on staying healthy in body and mind. One of the most memorable activities was our Wellbeing walk with our Senior Infant buddies. It was a lovely opportunity for the children to bond with their buddies, enjoy nature, have fun and enjoy each others company. At assembly children presented some beautiful acrostic poetry at our school assembly, inspired by our value of Love and Kindness.
  • Art: the children got creative with clay, making beautiful Valentine’s-inspired heart pinch pots. They were so proud of their creations and excited to take them home.
  • Seachtain na Gaeilge: the children enjoyed a variety of activities, from learning Irish songs, playing games in Irish, to practicing their Gaeilge with each other. A special highlight was attending Caife an Craic, where the children enjoyed pancakes and had the chance to chat in Irish.
  • GAA: the children have loved going to GAA sessions. They've been learning how to kick, pass, and understand the rules of Gaelic football. It’s been a great way for them to develop new skills and work as a team.

Stay tuned for more!
