Ciara's 2nd Class January News
Welcome to our class news, here's some of what we've been up to so far this year.
Our theme for Art in January was construction, we made turtles, hot air balloons and paper chains. For our project homework we made Junk Art vehicles and buildings.
Junk Art is when artists like us make 3D art with items no longer in use at home or that we find in the recycling bin, such as paper, card, cardboard tubes, magazines, sweet wrappers. You can see our marvellous creations below.
We are learning about fractions in Maths. A fraction is a small part of a whole item. We played pizza fractions and fractions bingo.
In Science we learned about a force called Friction. Objects move differently over rough and smooth surfaces. We tested toy cars moving across cardboard, fabric and the classroom floor. The car moved faster over the smooth classroom floor. The friction of the fabric slowed the car down.
We're so excited to move into our new school soon and hope you'll come and visit!
