Healthy Mind Healthy Body Week 2

We’re halfway through the second week of healthy minds and body and the timetable of events is still going strong. On the sports side we’ve had Gaelic football, a GAA blitz, Frisbee, Interschools athletics event and ‘Soccer’ Ciaran came to the school to do multi sports and soccer skills with 2nd – 6th class. Teachers and support staff have organised extra PE lessons to add to the fitness routine and make the most of the lovely weather.

The children are continuing to learn more about mindfulness and relaxation with Tara and everyone is participating in the daily DREAM meditation time led by Iona.  Yoga has featured for everyone with either Lynn or Frankie. The adults members of our school community haven’t been left out as they have a chance to attend the mental health evening on Wednesday.

The bikes and scooters were out in force again on Tuesday for the cycle circuit and ‘Walk on Wednesday’ went ahead even though it was a bit wet.

The drumming workshop was a great success and we’ve still got TaeKwonDo, tennis and orienteering to come…
