It has been a busy month in 6th Class. We took part in Active Week, and we enjoyed the “Wake and Shake” each morning. The boxing class was one of the highlights of the week. We also welcomed “GoGo Dermo” into the class where he told us about his cycle around the world. We have been learning all about World War 2 in class and we did projects on it. We also did a cool art lesson using charcoal. We drew a picture we entitled “The Lonely Soldier”.
We did a really cool experiment in one of our science lessons. We mixed cornflour and water and we discovered that it made a very usual substance.
Junior Infant buddies. We love our buddies in Áine’s Junior Infants and we have done lots of fun stuff with them so far this year. We have drawn pictures, read books, gone on a maths trail and taught them some P.E. skills.
Secret Santa. Just before the Christmas holidays, we decided that the class would but each other secret presents.
We are currently taking part in the Junior Entrepreneur Project (JEP). This is a project where 6th class come up with a product idea, make the product and sell that product. We have five great ideas suggested by different people in the class and brought in some “dragons” to listen to our presentations and decide which one we should go for. It was a difficult decision but in the end they chose the “Paracord Pencil”.
We enjoyed a bit of physical activity in the classroom in December.
We have been busy making our and selling our JEP product “Groovy Grips”. We made over €500. We also had great fun learning volleyball skills in PE lessons.
