Barry’s 3rd Class

During April, we learned how to find area, and used formulas to find
the area of various shapes. We used our knowledge of area to find all
twelve pentominoes; polygons made of 5 equal-sized squares connected
edge-to-edge!

This month we investigated chance and probability. We discussed the probability of rolling specific numbers on a dice, and the odds of rolling the same number twice, or three times in a row. We also discussed symmetry, and used rulers and mirrors to help us complete symmetrical patterns.
