1st Class Deirdre

During STEM week we paired up with 5th class to do a maths trail around the school.
We went on a nature walk around our school to see all of the flowers, herbs, fruit and vegetables that have been growing over the summer holidays.
We saw a Donkey and lots of other animals at Newbridge park. We even sang our song Tingalayo to the Donkey.
In October we went to the Harvest festival and used all of our senses to smell, touch, see, listen and taste all the foods that we grow in school.
We organised assemblies for the whole school in November. We shared our posters about children’s rights, told everybody about amazing children like Malala, Greta Thunberg and Ann Makosinski. We also sang a song called When I Grow Up that we learned with Áine.
